"you remind me of the babe. . ."

Hello my lovelies!

How is everyone out there in blog land???  It’s been awhile, I hope your doing awesomely!  Me and Tiffers (my sister) have been vlogging like crazy lately and I’ve neglected my blog and I’m sorry.

So, yesterday was my Bug’s birthday and we had her a David Bowie/Labyrinth themed birthday party. . .

(this is the part of the movie her party was based off. . .the ball/dream sequence.)

. . . it’s what she wanted and it came out wonderful if I do say so myself!

I had bought a few decorations at the Peddler’s Mall but to be honest, we really didn’t have to buy much, maybe spent $40, probably less on decorations.  Let me think, we bought streamer, table cloth, decorative rocks and balloons at Dollar Tree and I bought these awesome suckers from Oriental Trading. . .

actually wedding suckers but the color matched perfect and you could put on them whatever you want.
. . .and the masks cost about $10 and we made 13 with plenty of supplies left to make more.

The boas came from ebay, 3 for $10, cuz at Michael they were $10 a piece!  Uh no.  All the owls and the big Labyrinth poster came from Tiffers,  the little pictures were Bug’s. . .I mean, yeah $40 might be a lot for decorations, but you don’t wanna know what we’ve spent before.

Her cake is another story, it was about to piss me off and I was close to throwing it out the window!  Fondant is a douche.  A complete and utter douche.  That stuff is a pain to work with!  And I was already tired from working, then I had to come home and do the cake, get her decorations up and my mom was there to help (Bug was there to help but mainly got in the way lol) and I get so anal about my parties.  I can’t help it.  No one likes me when it gets down to nitty gritty party time and I’m sorry.  I really am.  But I am a bit OCD and picky about certain things. . .anyway, the cake came out pretty good.  The one thing I was most proud of was the writing, it’s the first time I’ve written on a cake and thank goodness for cake stencils, best investment I’ve made cake decorating wise. . .

Now for some Labyrinth birthday goodies!

Jareth's necklace!
love that smile!
We also got a bouncy house for ‘em and it was so cold and rainy!  Them kiddos froze but it’s like, ‘that  bouncy house was $160, someone better get in it and bounce and you better have a good time!’  And they did, all the kids loved it!  Later me, Tiffers and the Bug got in it, even though everyone freaked out cuz I wanted to and they wouldn’t let me stand up in it, but it was so much uber fun!

I stayed on my knees the entire time and Tiffers' and Bug’s bouncing made me bounce and let me tell ya, I guess it was just from bracing myself, by my friggin’ thighs hurt so bad!  Fat girls were not meant to bounce like that!  Or at least this fat girl wasn’t. . .and when I got out my knees were so owy and confused they were all jittery, took a bit for them to settle down. . .and standing at work today, my thigh muscles hurt more than my back!  Which is a nice detour of pain so I’m not complaining at all. . .

All in all and I think the part came out pretty good and everyone had a nice time and took plenty of cake home with ‘em!  Weight Watchers does not allow for cake binges so the cake that was left over at the end of the night (which wasn’t much I promise you, I’m talking people went home with a mega plate of cake) went in the trash.  No more temptation!

What else?  I think that’s about it.  I’ll leave you with this.

Done now. . .  :)

'and the moon never beams without bringing me dreams. . .'

Hello my lovelies!!

How ya’ll doing??

I’m pretty good.  Bug had some sort of mental breakdown while I was giving her a haircut at work today.  She was a right brat actually and has one chunk gone out of the back of her hair because I refused to cut it anymore.  She’s gonna have to go to school like that too, but at the moment she doesn’t care.  I AM NEVER HAVING KIDS.  And I mean that from the bottom of heart. . .at this very moment anyway. . .

I did manage to get the new Stevie Nicks’ album today: In Your Dreams, the one thing I wanted to accomplish other than getting the things for my mom’s birthday tomorrow.  So yeah, what has happened to the music selection at Wal- Mart?  It’s nonexistent.  Usually I could always buy the new release I wanted, but the last couple of times I’ve actually wanted to buy a CD new, they don’t have it.  Which I mean it isn’t a crime, just inconvenient when Wal-Mart is supposed to be exactly that, convenient.  Oh wells.  Went and got it from Best Buy and they only had two copies left, one of which I bought.  Hopefully that’s a good sign for Stevie. . .

I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I was to read a couple months ago that she was coming out with a new album.  There hasn’t been a new one since Trouble in Shangri-la and I thought that was super amazing!  My fav track off Trouble:

This new one, totally awesome possum and all the reviews I’ve read agree with me.  They may not say the exact words ‘awesome possum’ but deep down, they wanted to.  Much of it is demos from years and years ago which to me is super cool.  I love artists who have like vaults of music and they just pluck one out, wipe the dust off, record a new vocal and remix it. . .Bowie does it too, example the Toy album.  And when artists take bits from other songs, whether it be lyrics or music, and put it into a totally different song. . .it’s like finding Easter eggs!

I’m sure Stevie has like thousands of journals to choose poems from and make into songs and there are tons of demos and unreleased Stevie material on YouTube but imagine how much she’s probably got stashed away.  *insert fan girl squeal here*  I mean, this woman literally never has to pick up a pen again if she doesn't want to. . .

I know I’ve said before I wanna be cool like Beth Ditto of Gossip, but I’d really just love to be Stevie Nicks for a day. . .

she's fuhreakin' 62!

and still rockin'!

Tonight Glee is doing all Fleetwood Mac songs.  Blah.  I know they’re just covers and it’s just a tv show and blah, blahgitty, blah but I don’t like it at all.  At all.  I mean, ya’ll know how much I love the Bowie and I could totally enjoy an entire episode of Glee massacring Bowie music, but The Mac, uh no.  Their songs are way too personal. . .I don’t know.  That’s just me.

Currently listening to Annabel Lee on repeat.  Told ya’ll I would.  If I didn’t, I meant to tell you.  Or I told someone in passing.  Or I put it on facebook.  Someone knew dammit!

Everybody Loves You is pretty wonderful too.  And Italian Summer is like this epic ballad that needs to be on Broadway.  <3ness.

I could so go on and on about this, but I’m gonna bring this to a close.  I’ve gotta watch Glee so I can talk smack about it later and John Rzeznik is tweeting.

Done now. . .  :)

PSS Still not the album version but it’ll do. . .

UPDATE:
So far, the only good Mac song Glee has done is Songbird and even then, that little run thing she did made me cringe.  The best so far was the for reals version of The Chain.  (duh!  right?)  I Don't Wanna Know, epically awful, they were so stiff while singing it. . .the Goo Goo Dolls do a great cover of it.  Then again, we all know how biased I can be. . .

UPDATE on the UPDATE:
Go Your Own Way. . .now that's how you sing a Fleetwood Mac song.  Then again, she totally has the right back story to show the proper emotion.  Either way, she did it justice.

"i lie down, by the side of my darling. . ."

Hello my lovelies!!!

How ya’ll doing?

Been awhile since I’ve blogged at ya.  Sorry.  But I’ve been. . .VLOGGING!   Can you believe it?  It’s hard for me to think that I am actually vlogging seeing as I was the fat shy girl in school who would puke everyday for a week if I had to do anything that involved getting in front of the class.  Oh wells.  We all gotta grow up.

I’m doing a vlog with my bestie sister, Tiffers, and it’s called Two Fat Girls.  We’ll be vlogging about Weight Watchers, Weight Watchers related things and all sorts of other randomness.  Check out our first episode:

YouTube:  (subscribe!)  http://www.youtube.com/user/thetwofatgirls?feature=mhum

Facebook:  (like!)  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Two-Fat-Girls/217915654887572

Onto other non vlog related things.  Bought tickets to see David Gray in Nashville.  Can’t fuhreakin’ wait!!!  It’s at the Grand Ole Opry.  They gonna blow the roof off!!!  Plus I get to see all my David Gray peeps that I talk to on Facebook. . .whoop whoop!!!

Stevie Nicks' new album comes out on Tuesday and I am so glad that Rolling Stone put up a preview of her album because I am obsessed with the song Annabel Lee.  *sigh*  Amazing!  It’s essentially the Edgar Allan Poe poem by the same name set to music.  Been listening to it none stop so come Tuesday I’m gonna have that thing on repeat for weeks!

I am so super tired right now so I apologize if this blog seems all over the place.  Yesterday I had to get up at the crack of dawn, help set up Bugglette’s table at the Spring Fling:

. . .go to work, then go back to the Spring Fling to sell some Bugglette’s crafts.  We didn’t do horribly, it could have been worse.  The two vendors on either side of our booth sold nothing all day.  I think it was a crappy day all around for people that showed up. . .I think the vendors who were selling food most likely did the best.  We’d heard a lot of people talking that there just wasn’t as many people out there like there had been the year before.  But it was our first time setting up at anything like that so we might give the Flea Market a try and we’ve got another local festival type thing we’re gonna try in July.  If anything we know what not to do and how to set everything out better.

AnyGoo. . .there is this amazing purse that Absolute Goo has up for the Compass House Auction on Ebay (all proceeds go to charity) that has the pics of John Rzeznik on it from the Rolling Stone shoot.  *sigh*  And it comes with a checkbook cover and wallet.  All covered with John Rzeznik’s beautiful face!  I WANTS!!!!!  But it’s way out my price league right now.  *tear, sniffle*

I WANTS!!!!!

But the person who made the purse has an etsy shop and she’s got a Bowie purse and a Stevie Nicks one.  Birthday present for me!  *hint, hint*

Done now. . .  :)

PSS  This isn’t the final version on the album, but it’s just gonna have to do until Tuesday. . .
